Welcome to Starboard Nets
Casting the nets of the Gospel in contemporary ways
North America is home to a rich diversity of ethnic and cultural groups with millions of people who have no relationship with Jesus Christ. Since many segments of the non-Christian population do not have churches or ministries designed for their unique life habits, many will not hear the gospel in terms meaningful to them.
We have the option of criticizing and fighting against these cultural trends or finding in them an exciting opportunity for reaching people with God’s Good News. In Christ’s great commission (Matt. 28:18-20) we find the challenge of designing intentional ministry efforts among all these population segments. Called out leaders and churches must accept the challenge to engage the culture.
The challenge is to resist the pull of a “cookie cutter” mentality. The people of God must learn to think missionally. They must be open to the risk of thinking “outside the box” of traditional ministry approaches to reach this vast variety of lifestyles and special-interest groups.
God is moving across our land and stirring the hearts of men and women to address an ever-emerging culture with the Good News of Jesus Christ. The task of Starboard Nets is to equip, empower and encourage God’s people to activate their God-given dreams for the purpose of establishing culturally relevant ministries and churches.
